Holly's interest in weather started at a very young age. She and her father would stand at the top of the hill near their home in Omaha, Nebraska and watch storms roll into the city on warm summer nights. She thanks her parents for always encouraging her to pursue her love for weather, and for putting up with all the weather maps on her bedroom walls. Growing up in Nebraska meant living with wild weather, from tornadoes to 15 inch snowstorms. Holly grew accustomed to these constantly changing conditions, and is now looking forward to forecasting the crazy weather that West Texas has to offer as well.
Holly graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a bachelors degree in Meteorology-Climatology in 2007. During college, she spent two summers as a weather intern at KMTV in Omaha, where she learned a great deal about broadcast meteorology, thanks to a wonderful and informative mentor there, meteorologist C.T. Thongklin. Also, Holly served as president of the universitys local student chapter of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and still is an active member of the National AMS.
Holly is married to her wonderful husband Jeremy; together they love to travel, spend time in the great outdoors, and hang out with friends. Holly likes playing lots of sports and watching copious amounts of college football and baseball (especially her beloved Cornhuskers!)
