Andy Scholes came to Lubbock in September of 2008 as the Red Raider Nation’s Weekend Anchor. Before coming to the Hub City, he previously worked in San Angelo, TX at the CBS affiliate KLST as their Weekend Sports Anchor. Andy is a native Houstonian and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Houston in May of 2006. While in college he learned the broadcasting business while interning at KTRK.

Andy is an avid fan of all Houston sports teams, especially the Rockets, who he worked for as a ballboy for 6 years. When Andy gets the chance he heads back to Houston and still helps out with the team.

Andy moved to Lubbock at the perfect time as he got to cover the Red Raiders historic 2008 season and he’ll never forget the night Tech beat the #1 Longhorns!

In his spare time Andy enjoys working out, playing basketball, watching sports and visiting his fiancé Lauren in San Angelo.
