Lee K. Howard was born in Amarillo, TX and raised in Clovis,
New Mexico and came to KLBK in March 2009 as the weekend sports anchor and
weekday sports reporter.
Before coming to Lubbock, Lee K. spent four years as a
sports anchor/reporter for the NBC and FOX affiliates in Amarillo.
Sports have been Lee K’s passion from a young age but he soon realized he was
more gifted at talking sports than playing them.
Some of his most notable interviews include Lou Holtz, Emmitt Smith and Brian
Urlacher however he gets his drive from discovering the local college or high
school athlete’s story.
He received his bachelor's degree in Mass Communications-Broadcasting from West
Texas A&M University where he developed a solid foundation in both
broadcast and print journalism. While in school, Lee K. was the sports
broadcast director for KWTS 91.1 FM and also did sports broadcasts for KGNC 710
AM. He also served as the editor and sports editor for the university newspaper
the Prairie. Other accomplishments while at West Texas A&M include being
the president of Phi Delta Theta fraternity and Homecoming King.
In his spare time Lee K. enjoys playing and watching sports. He says he’s
excited to be in Lubbock covering the Red Raiders and all of the area teams and
that God has blessed him with the opportunity to get a job he enjoys in an area
with such pride and support for its athletic teams.
