Mitch Carr joined the KLBK team in June 2009 as a general assignment reporter.

Mitch is originally from Richmond, Virginia and is a proud Southerner.  For college, Mitch spent four glorious years at the University of Miami.  While there, he graduated Magna Cum Laude while majoring in Broadcast Journalism and Spanish and minoring in History.  He spent the rest of his time on campus anchoring and reporting for several shows on the school's TV station, UMTV.  In Miami as well, Mitch gained valuable journalism experience while interning for WPLG- Local 10 and FSN Florida.

Mitch was also fortunate enough to see the world through study abroad programs offered through UM.  In the summer of 2006, he spent six weeks in Mexico City studying international media and reporting on the Mexican presidential election.  He got a credit line in the New York Times for reporting that he did from Oaxaca, Mexico on election day.  In the summer of 2008, Mitch traveled to Vina del Mar, Chile and interned for Que Buen Comienzo!, a Spanish-language production group.  Thanks to these experiences, Mitch is now fluent in Spanish.

While he misses Miami and Richmond, Mitch is excited to be in Northwest Texas and finally starting his career in Lubbock.  You can follow Mitch on Twitter @mitchcarrtv and he is also accepting Facebook friend requests.  If you have any questions, comments, or story ideas, please e-mail Mitch at mcarr@klbk.com.
