
Linda DeLeon
District 1
Linda DeLeon was elected to her
second term on the Lubbock City Council in May 2006.
District 1 is located in northeast Lubbock, with
population of more than 32,000 (56 percent Hispanic,
31 percent Anglo, and 9 percent African-American).
Family Life
Linda and her husband, Porfirio, have three
daughters. Maria lives in Atlanta, Georgia, and is
an electrical engineer for Colonial Pipeline.
Angelica lives in Alexandria, Virginia, and works
for U.S. Department of Treasury. Renata is a student
at Texas Tech University majoring in Retail Sales.
Linda is a
life-long Lubbock resident, and attended Wayland
Baptist University and Texas Tech University where
she maintained honors status while working full time
and volunteering hundreds of hours. Linda’s favorite
past time is going to the movies.
Professional Life
Linda retired in 2003
after 30 years of service with Southwestern Bell
Telephone Company as a Customer Service Technician.
She was the first Hispanic female to hold this
position. Linda proudly served as a Trustee for the
Lubbock Independent School District for 18 years,
representing north Lubbock to ensure quality
education for all students. She is now the owner of
All American Concrete.
In addition to her service on the City Council,
Linda is a member of the Covenant Heart and Vascular
Institute Development Board Women's Heart Committee.
