DEADDOGSpkg2008-07-24-1216950454.jpgTwo dogs die inside a parked car, and officials with Lubbock Animal Services are investigating this as a case of animal cruelty. Leroy Gonzalez with Animal Services was called to Covenant Medical Center Tuesday afteroon where he found two pit bulls locked in a parked car with the windows rolled up. Gonzales immediately called police to break the cars windows, but by the time police arrived the heat proved too much for the dogs to handle. Both pit bulls died in the car. "As soon as they opened up the window, when I tried to reach in and open up the door, when I reached in, a little cloud of smoke came out from the inside to outside, and I was wondering where that smoke came from and it was all the heat inside the car," says Gonzales. The owners of those dogs could be fined or even face jail time.
