Minimum Wage Raised to $6.55

As of today. folks making minimum wage officially get a pay raise.
The federal minimum wage went from $5.85 an hour to $6.55 an hour today.
At this point the general consensus is that anything helps. And many people here in the

Several businesses across town that pay minimum wage have anticipated this pay raise, trying to reduce any monetary loss.

Today's 70 cent pay raise is part two of a three phase increase.
The third will be one year from now, and will take today's increase of $6.55 and make it $7.25.
