LUBBOCK, Texas: The Monterey Plainsmen held their baseball banquet last night at the Frazier Alumni Pavillion. At the banquet four Plainsmen signed national letters of intent to play baseball for Wayland Baptist University. Ben Seymore, Trevor Stringer, Cutter Forman and Kyle Smart all signed on with the Pioneers. Also in attendance at the banquet was former Plainsmen pitcher, Chad Bettis, who expects to be picked in the first 10 rounds of the MLB first year player draft on Thursday. Bettis told KLBK Sports that playing in the Major Leagues has been a lifelong dream and he can't wait to see what Thursday's draft has in store for him.
