Gun Scare On Tech Campus Forces Evacuation

UPDATE-- From Texas Tech: Around 9 a.m. (today), Texas Tech Police received a report of an individual carrying a rifle into the construction area of the former Business Administration Building.

Following a thorough search of the area by Tech PD and Lubbock Police Department, the individual was located, and it was verified the individual was carrying an ROTC dummy rifle.

The ROTC offices are located in the former BA building.

Campus activities are returning to normal.

Texas Tech PD is conducting its investigation and additional information, should there be any, will be available once that investigation is complete.

At least one building on Texas Tech's campus was evacuated this morning, after reports of a man with a gun.

The Business Administration building, also known as the BA, was placed on lock down just after 9:00.

Lubbock Police assisted Texas Tech PD in locating the man, who appears to have been a member of ROTC.
