New Deal Falls Short in State Title Quest

newdeal2007-06-08-1181277482.jpgROUND ROCK, Texas:  Today one of the biggest days in the history of New Deal High School Athletics.  The Lions baseball team played in their first ever State Title game at Dell Diamond Stadium and the Archer City Panthers stood in the way of an even bigger piece of history: New Deal's first ever State Championship in any boys sport.  Unfortunately, David Turner's squad unable to bring that first place trophy back to New Deal, Archer City defeated the Lions 6-2, but in even in defeat, the New Deal baseball program captured its first ever 2nd place finish at the State Tournament.
