16 Year Old In Custody After Teen Shooting

A 16 year old is in custody tonight following an early morning shooting.
Police responded to a call of a home invasion in the 100 block of Venita Avenue around 9:30 this morning.
When they arrived they found a 17 year old male with a single gunshot wound to the head.
Four others were in the home at the time of the shooting.
Sheriff's officials say they believe the shooting was accidental and also say the gun was stolen.
And neighbors say they're shocked this happened in their neighborhood.
Neighbor Larry Watts says, "There's a lot of people that usually party over there and stuff like that they don't cause any trouble."
Major Carter with the Lubbock County Sheriff's Department says that the victim did not live at the home where the shooting took place.
