A rollover accident in the 2000 block of S. Loop 289 had traffic backed up for miles Friday afternoon.

The accident happened just after 4:15 p.m.

Traffic on the Loop was already congested for another minor accident up ahead.

Police radio traffic indicated the accident happened on the eastbound access road but spilled onto the Loop.

Police and emergency responders told dispatchers they were having trouble getting through traffic to get to the accident.

Initial reports showed drivers sustained only moderate injuries.
