Adopt One Dog, Save Two Lives

October is national Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month and the Lubbock Animal Shelter is encouraging you to save a furry friend's life.
The goal during this month is to bring awareness to the magnitude of the homeless animal problem and to encourage people to make adoption their first option.
According to the ASPCA, 3-4 million dogs are without homes in the United States.
Sixty percent of those dogs that go through shelters have to be euthanized because of the overcrowding. That's more than 1.8 million dogs.
The Lubbock Animal Shelter said you're not only saving one life when you adopt a dog, you save two: the dog you adopt and the one who now has room in a kennel.
Every animal that comes from the Lubbock Animal Shelter is either spayed or neutered, comes with their updated shots and a microchip.
