On October 6, 2012, Nickelodeon will host their 9th Annual Worldwide Day
of Play, a whole day dedicated to living a healthy and active
lifestyle. It is designed to encourage kids and their parents to turn
off the television set and play, especially outdoors! Each year, Nick
goes "dark" on their stations from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Central Daylight
Time (12-3 pm EDT/PDT), and then scroll events and encouragement across
the screen telling kids and parents to get out and play!
For the first time in Lubbock, the City of Lubbock and Parks and Recreation will be hosting a number of family-friendly events as part of the Worldwide Day of Play. By attending one of these nine events, kids and parents will have fun together and get the message that play is important!
