For the first time in Lubbock, the City of Lubbock and Parks and Recreation will be hosting a number of family-friendly events as part of the Worldwide Day of Play. By attending one of these nine events, kids and parents will have fun together and get the message that play is important!

Worldwide Day of Play Events - Saturday, October 6
Four Square Challenge - 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Bring the family and play one of the most popular youth games in the world! Free!

Twister Dance - 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Learn dance moves while playing Twister to these favorite songs: "Cupid Shuffle," "We Are Who We Are" and "Whip My Hair!" Free!

Family Balloon Volleyball - 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon
Bring the grandkids and kids and have fun playing a lively game of Balloon Volleyball! Free!

Scavenger Hunt in the Gardens - 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon
Families will enjoy roaming through the arboretum on this fun scavenger hunt! Kids will receive bulbs to set out at their homes that will bloom in the spring! Free!

Ninja For A Day - 11:00 a.m. to 12 Noon
Learn awesome Ninja skills, tricks and techniques so that you too can be a Ninja for a day! Free!

Rubber chickens and noodles (swimming, not pasta!) are the game pieces in a variety of games for the whole family! Free!

Come learn the coolest dances from the 50's and then dance the afternoon away! $3/person, $5/couple

Some Fun Safety - 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
Enjoy playing and riding bikes at Safety City, a miniature, kid-size town, while you learn tips on how to be safe! Free!
