Brownfield Police Detective Darrel Williams was put on paid administrative leave Tuesday after an investigator filed a complaint with the Chief of Police.

KAMC Investigates has obtained a copy of the complain, which details allegations Williams falsified government documents and lied in court testimony to cover up his shady past.

According to a 275-page document filed with the Terry County District Court last week, Williams was forced to resign as a police officer in Kermit, Texas--near Odessa--in 1995 after authorities there discovered he had sex with a 14-year-old girl multiple times.

Notes from the Winkler County District Attorney say the victim's father declined to press criminal charges against Williams so long as Williams resigned as a police officer and has his peace officer's license permanently revoked.

A copy of the F-5 form filed with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education permanently revoking Williams' license was filed by the then-police chief in Kermit in 1995.

But Williams makes no mention of the revocation on his application to the Brownfield Police Department, despite the fact that the application asked whether the applicant had ever been a police officer.

Brownfield Police Chief Tony Serbantez declined to comment Tuesday but did confirm Williams had been placed on paid administrative leave.
