Men's And Women's Basketball Programs Ready for 2012 Kick-Off Celebration

The Texas Tech women's and men's basketball teams in conjunction with the Red Raider Club will host two events at United Spirit Arena in October for fans to come meet the teams and celebrate the start of the season.
Fans can attend the Lady Raider Tip Off Celebration for $5 on Oct. 24 on the main event floor. Doors will open at 11:45 a.m. with lunch being served at noon.Fans can then stay for a full practice, which begins at 12:30 p.m.
"We are very excited to give our fans a chance to come out and see our team before the season begins," Tech women's basketball head coach Kristy Curry said. "It's a great opportunity to see the girls in action as we prepare for a great season of Lady Raider basketball."
The Red Raider Tip Off Celebration will be on Oct. 25 on the main event floor of the arena. Tickets are $10 with the doors opening at 4:45 p.m. and practicebeginning at 5 p.m. Hors D'oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be available to purchase beverages.
"We want to invite everyone out for an evening with Red Raider Basketball," said Texas Tech men's head coach Chris Walker. "This is an opportunity for the fans to get a glimpse of this year's team and see how much pride they have in wearing the Scarlet and Black."
Season tickets for men's and women's basketball are still available at www.texastech.com/tickets. Women's season tickets begin at $93 and men's basketball season tickets begin at $175. Tickets can be purchased through the web or by phone at (806) 742-4412 or (888) GO-BIG-12.
