On Tuesday, Lubbock ISD unveiled a new notification system thats sure to keep parents informed of whats happening on their students campuses. In just a matter of minutes, the district will be able to send ecorded messages to the home and parent cell numbers of all 28,000 students in the district. The messages will be concerning everything from open houses, to weather delays, to emergency situations. District officials hope the greater level of communication will keep parents fully informed. Says Nancy Sharp of LISD, "We still have notes going home in backpacks and those sorts of communication. This is just one more way to communicate with our parents so they stay well involved with whats happening at school."
