Around two o'clock this afternoon the call came in that an officer was down right outside the downtown CitiBus stop.
Sheriff Kelly Rowe said the officer was undercover when something sparked his interest and he began speaking to the suspect
The suspect then took off running and while the officer was chasing him he fell and broke his arm.
Another officer was able to apprehend the suspect.
We don't know too many details about the events leading up to the chase-- police aren't saying much since it was an undercover operation
Sheriff Rowe says there are many undercover officers working everyday to help keep Lubbock safe.
"They're working around the clock, working with other narcotics units with other agencies within Lubbock county, both state, federal and other local offices, but there is a tremendous amount of narcotics activity happening in Lubbock and at all different levels and we're constantly trying to track that down and find that and get it off the street," said Sheriff Kelly Rowe.
The officer wouldn't tell us what the suspect will be charged with. Keep checking everythinglubbock.com for updates.
