A jury found White's Mortuaries responsible for failing to fulfill a relationship of trust when it came to the body of Ester Riley.

Tuesday, the family of Riley were awarded roughly $700,000 in compensation.

Riley's presumed body had been embalmed without family permission.

The family had asked that the body not be embalmed due to questions surrounding Riley's death.

Among those questions was whether or not Riley's body is actually in the correct plot.

The body was exhumed in 2006, but a visual ID was unable to be made due to advanced decomposition.

Riley's funeral was closed casket and the family never saw the body.
