The autopsy results for 29-year-old Monica Adams are in.

Preliminary results say Adams died from multiple blows to the head, but toxicology and forensic tests won't be completed for weeks.

Adams' body was discovered early Wednesday morning in an oil field on the corner of Bradley and MLK on Lubbock's northeast side.

Adams had been arrested several times for prostitution in the past, but Lubbock police aren't willing to say whether or not her death is related to any of the other prostitutes who have been killed in the past.

Adams frequently stayed at Lubbock's Sunset Motel with her boyfriend and the owner there tells us the last time he saw her was almost a week ago.

Captain Stevens with the Lubbock Police Department says they are busy trying to find a suspect.

"One of the more arduous tasks is to identify these folks as either witnesses or potential suspects and as the day carries on and the investigation carries on, again the detectives have to make those kinds of determinations," Captain Stevens says.

Captain Stevens also says a lot of the details in this case are being withheld because they could be used later on down the road to possibly convict the perpetrator.
