Lubbock police now know how the woman found murdered in an oil field on Wednesday morning died.  Preliminary autopsy results show her killer hit her several times in the head with an unknown weapon.  An oil field worker found the 29-year-old victim around 9:30 Wednesday morning beside an oil well near north MLK Blvd and East Bradley Street.

Police spent most of Thursday out at the crime scene again making sure they didn't miss any evidence that could end up leading them to Monica Adam's killer.  They say they have no suspects at this time, but are following up on several leads.   Now, we bring you an exclusive interview with the man who discovered the victim's body.
A 911 call is what started the homicide investigation into 29-year-old Monica Isabel Adams' death. The caller is an oil field worker who was out checking the wells near N. MLK Blvd. and East Bradley when he spotted the young woman's body.  He wants to remain anonymous.  He says, "I thought it was an animal and then whenever I looked again, I could see her feet, and saw her head, and saw the short black hair ... that's when I knew it was a human."  The caller says he was shocked to find a dead body lying naked in the field.  He says, "Its very disturbing that somebody would think so little of a life to do somebody like that."  However, he says hearing Adams may have lived a life of prostitution wasn't as surprising.  A background check reveals she had been arrested six times for selling her body for sex.  "You do see a lot of unsavory characters a lot of drugs a lot of prostitutues a lot of seedier things in life around Lubbock."  And, the man says the area where he found Adams is one of the worst in the city.  He says he goes to check on the wells each day and more often than not, he sees prostitutes in cars with men, nearby.  He says, "One day I saw a pimp kick his hooker out, dumped her, and tried run over her."  And, women who know that lifestyle agree it is a violent way to live.  A former prostitute says, "I've been out there and it's nothing to play with especially with all the girls now that are coming up dead missing."  To be exact, Adams was the second body found in the same area of the city in the last year and half and the fifth in the last decade.  All the victims had been arrested for prostitution, making some believe the LPD has a big problem on their hands.   The man who found Adams says, "I think we got a serial murderer out there, working on prostitutes, working on the young ones."  But, Capt. Greg Stevens says people shouldn't be jumping to conclusions too fast. He says, "There's just as many dissimilarities as there are similarities right now so, it's very difficult for us to draw that conclusion this eary in the investigation.
