Sites like Facebook and Craigslist now have listings for places to sleep for this weekend for people traveling into town for the TTU-UT game Saturday.

Most people have put their offerings up online for prices starting at about $100 a night, and even allowing for pets, usually at additional cost.

Jennifer and Matthew Fraley-Nowacek are renting out a room in their home for Friday and decided to put a room up after seeing others post about it on Facebook.

Both agreed this was a chance to make a little extra money and help others out.  "Part of it was the opportunity, it's easy to just open up the house, definitely gotta trust people, and find the right people," said Matthew. "But we want to make sure people can come and enjoy the game, a lot of people wouldn't be able to do that if they didn't have a place to stay."

The Nowacek's said they'll treat their guest as if he was staying in a bed and breakfast, offering him something to eat before he heads out Saturday.

Same with Loriann Rhodes, who lives just west of Lubbock in Hockley County.  She put her spare rooms up on Craigslist late Thursday, and hasn't confirmed a renter yet. "To have Texas come here and make money while they're here and make money is awesome," said Rhodes.

She and son Dylan are big Longhorn fans. "I told Dylan 'Make sure you clean up everything and make it look like a hotel room,'" said Rhodes. "And so he laid the towels on the bed with the soaps."

Both families are taking extra precautions when it comes to letting strangers into their homes.

"I'm gonna ask for a couple of references and a $50 deposit, and it's really inexpensive, $100," said Rhodes.

"My husbands going to sleep on the couch, because they're getting in pretty late, and he'll probably have some sort of weapon underneath the couch, just for safety measures," said Jennifer.
"I myself am a weapon," said Matthew.

Both the Nowacek's and the Rhodes said they would consider doing this again if this weekend goes well.
