Casey Ledbetter was sentenced to life, without the possibility of parole, for the murders of Derek Hale and Joanie Deanne Parker.
Back in May of 2011, Parker, 49, was killed at a vacant house near Idalou.
There, Parker and her son Derek Hale, 26, were both found dead.
According to court documents, Ledbetter confessed to shooting Hale and then luring Parker to the same location, stealing $4,000 from her and shooting her as well.
During the hearing, the victim's family thanked Ledbetter for pleading guilty.
"It is rare for all the family to offer their forgiveness and pray for him and things like that. It shows that real power of changed hearts," Lubbock County District Attorney, Matt Powell said.
Meredith Ledbetter, Casey's wife, pleaded guilty to Capital Murder in October.
She was also sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for her role in the two murders.
