Lubbock police capture one of eight escaped imates from a New mexico prison right here in Central Lubbock.

Right around 7:00 Monday night, Lubbock officers swarmed a duplex on the 4300 block of 52nd Street and took 19-year-old Raynaldo Enriquez into custody.
Enriquez is one of eight inmates that authorities say escaped from the Curry County Jail in Clovis just after 9:30 Sunday night.  Officials say the men used tools to cut a hole in the jail's ceiling, get on the roof, and used a tree to break their fall from the two-story building.  Clovis police were able to catch one of the inmates shortly after the escape and now Enriquez is the second to be arrested.  The other six remain at-large.  Among them is one convicted child killer, another accused murderer, and the other four are also accused of violent crimes.

Police say Enriquez was in jail for multiple robberies and burglaries and assault and battery charges.

The Curry County Sheriff says, they'll continue working with other law enforcement agencies to get the other six men back behind bars where they belong.  If you have any information on where the escapees are, you should call 911.  All eight inmates are facing new charges connected to the escape.  We'll keep you updated on any new developments.
