Investigators now know that Show of Support did not obtain, or even submit an application for a city permit to hold last week's parade.

50-year-old military veteran, Dale Andrew Hayden, was driving the parade float that was hit.

Mr. Hayden has a military career spanning more than three decades and served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Hayden now works as a truck driver for Smith Industries, an oilfield services company.

However, an attorney for the company said Hayden is in complete shock and has been placed on medical leave at this time.

Investigators said Hayden edged across the railroad crossing despite warning signals of a fast approaching train.

Four war veterans were killed and 16 others wounded in the accident.
