Lubbock firefighters responded to a fire at a back house near 21st St. and University Ave. Thursday night.

When crews arrived on scene, they found heavy smoke coming from the building and some flames inside the house.

They spent about an hour putting the fire out and getting all the smoke out of the house.

Fire commanders on scene said nobody was home at the time of the fire.

An investigator with the fire marshal's office was called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.

We'll have more details on EverythingLubbock.com and on KAMC and KLBK as we get them.
