A high-speed chase that started on Avenue Q in Lubbock ended in a Slaton ditch with one man arrested.

Police say the chase started just after 3:00 a.m. on Avenue Q, where a white Lincoln Town Car refused to stop for an officer.

Two other L.P.D. units joined the chase as the Town Car hit US 84, hitting 115 m.p.h. L.P.D. requested the DPS helicopter, which was unavailable at the time.

A Slaton police officer also joined the chase as it entered that city.

It ended when the Town Car hit a ditch near 15th Street and Powers Ave. in Slaton.

Officers arrested the driver, who was the only person in the car. He is charged with D.W.I. and Evading Arrest.

Police have not yet released the man's name, or any other details about the chase.
