The organization has been around for 25 years and say they have never turned any one away for their ability to pay or not pay. They do this by holding their annual "Light Up a Life fundraiser. It started the 23rd at the South Plains Mall and you can purchase a collector's porcelain ornament for $25 and help Hospice of Lubbock continue their mission.
Charley Wasson, Executive director of Hospice of Lubbock, says, "It celebrates and remembers those who are no longer with us and it honors those people who've made differences in our lives and at the same time it helps us raise funds to we can ensure our mission of taking care of everyone who has a terminal diagnosis whether they have the ability to pay or not."
You can donate from now until Christmas at the South Plains Mall or you can call Hospice of Lubbock at 795-2751. You can also go online to hospiceoflubbock.org.
They also would like to invite the community out to Haverty's at 76th and Quaker, Wednesday the 28th, for the lighting ceremony at 6:00 p.m..
