Lubbock Police rushed to a central Lubbock neighborhood Wednesday afternoon on reports of a stabbing.

When officers arrived, they found 32-year-old David Martinez stabbed in the neck.

Martinez was rushed to UMC with life threatening injuries but later died.

As officers began investigating, they found a crime scene that spanned two blocks.

Initial reports say the victim was stabbed at 3004 35th Street but then ran east down the block to a house in the 2800 block of 35th Street.

Police say Martinez and the man they say stabbed him--35-year-old Joshua Bulls--both ran from the house where the stabbing took place to the second house in the 2800 block.

Dozens of yellow crime scene placards line the sidewalk the victim ran down, each placard marking a drop of blood.
