Starting Wednesday TxDOT crews begin the process of switching the outside frontage road between Quaker and Erskine from two way to one way southbound.
Quaker and Texas Tech Parkway traffic, under the Quaker bridge, reduce to one-lane of traffic and shift to the northbound lanes.
Erskine west of the Loop closes to all traffic from the frontage road to Salem avenue.
Crews shift southbound loop traffic west of Quaker to Slide road onto the northbound side.
The traffic reduces to one-lane in each direction.
it's all part of a $26.9 million improvements project aimed at widening the Loop to six lanes from Slide to one mile east of Quaker, rebuilding the Loop bridges to span over Quaker and Erskine and rebuild the frontage roads.
