New Movie Premieres Tonight, Star Calls Lubbock Second Home

Tonight Chanel Ryan will watch her film Bad Kids Go To Hell for the first time.
"I have seen like the last twenty minutes of it," Ryan said. "So I am a little nervous watching it for the first time, in a theater, with a bunch of people."
Ryan will be hosting a party at Premier Cinema tonight to debut the film.
"I play Ms. Gleason the cheerleading coach/ history teacher," Ryan said. "The film is being called a combination of The Breakfast Club meets The Grudge."
In the movie Ryan works a long side Judd Nelson, a man who got his start in a film similar to this one.
"He is great," Ryan said, "It was really interesting working with such a seasoned professional as well and it gave me not only a new confidence, but he really is very sure of what he wants in each scene and how he goes about getting it. So I definitely learned a lot from him."
Lubbock has become Ryan's home away from home, that is why she is promoting it here instead of in L.A.
"I kind of joined a gym here and my friend jokes around that I know how to get around Lubbock better than him now," Ryan said. "I have my little favorite grocery store that I go to and my favorite restaurants that I go to."
Ryan rescued a cat in June and a friend here in Lubbock offered to take it off her hands.
"So I delivered the cat out here in June and consequently I have been back like half the time every month since," Ryan said. "Just to visit the cat and hang out."
She said the Hub City is a nice change from Los Angeles.
"It is a very laid back life style, which is very relaxing and eye opening," Ryan said.
But Ryan isn't the only star of the film with a South Plains connection.
Molly Kizziah grew up in Lubbock.
"Molly is actually friends with the director Mathew Spradlin," Ryan said. "So she came out when we were shooting in Dallas, so she plays one of the students."
Ryan said the black comedy has a little something for everyone.
"I think when you go to see a film like this there is sort of a formula," Ryan said. "You want to have fun, you want to see pretty girls and you want to be scared."
