Saturday morning Texas Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt was just watching his son's soccer game when his phone rang.

He didn't answer.

It turned out to be Whit Babcock who left him a voicemail.

A little over an hour later, Tommy Tuberville called, saying he had taken the head coaching job at Cincinnati. This coming after Hocutt and Tuberville talked Friday night. Hocutt saying Tuberville "looked him in the eye" and gave him his commitment to the program.

Even with that, Hocutt said he doesn't feel wronged by the coach.
