"I really think its going to be great for Tech," Scroggins said. "I am excited that an alumni and a super bowl champion is coming back to be their coach."

Summer Scroggins said she is a big time Texas Tech football fan.

She said she wants season tickets, but because of work she does not have the time.

"We attend Tech games often and would definitely be purchasing season tickets if we were able to," Scroggins said.

Even though Summer can't buy tickets, hundreds of other Tech fans are, and it is safe to say the hype has to do with the return of the king.

"But what we really wanted to do was capitalize on the excitement of last night and try to get as many new red raider fans into our family of buying season tickets," Beal said.

Director of Athletic Communications Blayne Beal said more than 200 fans became new season ticket holders, all of them, after Tech named Kliff Kingsbury as the new head coach of Texas Tech football.

"You're talking about fans who are either investing in season tickets for their first time," Beal said.  "Or possibly did not renew last year or in years past and are now getting back into our football program."

While Kingsbury mania is driving the sales of tickets, the price does not hurt either.

Texas Tech said they will not be raising the price of season tickets next year.

"We continue to feel like the product we put on the field is tremendous," Beal said. "Our packages are very affordable and over the course of the last few years our fans have been very receptive to that."
