Littlefield Fifth Grader Brings Gun to School; Parents, Police Not Notified

Parents of children who attend Littlefield Elementary School are demanding answers after school administrators failed to notify them that a student brought a gun to school Friday.
The Littlefield Police Department confirmed that a fifth grade student brought an Airsoft gun to school with him on Friday.
One student we talked with who is a fourth grader at the school, told KAMC Investigates the student told his classmates he planned to shoot people with the gun but he didn't have the right bullets. The student we talked with also said the gun-wielding student also threatened to shoot a classmate in the butt.
Both police and school administrators said the gun was confiscated from the student, who has been placed on in school suspension.
Superintendent Jerry Blakely declined to speak with KAMC Investigates on camera Monday night but said administrators did not notify police or parents because the gun brought by the student was 'a piece of junk.'
Police confirmed they only began investigating the incident after they were contacted by a concerned parent who called them Friday night.

My daughter is in the 5th grade and goes to Littlefield and has classes with this little boy. I am OUTRAGED that I was NOT notified about this incident especially the police!!! I had to find out on Facebook???? I will be one of the many of [censored] [censored] parents at the school tomorrow! "A piece of junk" is what the administrators are!!! Something needs to be done about this NOW!
