"The Light Up a Life program provides an opportunity for people to memorialize those that have been in their life that have died or even those that are still living in their honor."

For a donation to the Hospice of Lubbock you receive an ornament that you could write a message on to honor someone in your life during the Light Up a Life drive.

"We have found it's very emotional for people to come and put their thoughts down on paper and memorialize those that have meant so much to them and to do that as a tribute to their lives."

You could also buy an angel ornament for 25 dollars with all the proceeds going to those who can't afford end of life care.

"So they money we raise goes directly to help patients. That helps provide the nurses, the aids, chaplains, social workers, all the medications they need, the medical supplies they may need. All those things to make sure that we provide great care."
The money raised helped patients but also provided support for their families.

"We have families all the time tell us what a difference we made. And our most frequent comment is that they wish they had known about hospice earlier because of the impact we have not only on the patient but on the family."
