It was seven days ago this Friday, a gunman stormed a Connecticut elementary school and started shooting.

Many of you asked us what you could do to help, so we started what we called "Letters from Lubbock."

A week after we first announced the initiative on KAMC News, more than 100 of you hand wrote notes to Newtown and sent them to our television station.

Each of those letters was filled with words of support and prayer.

On Friday, we packaged up every note and mailed them to a post office box in Connecticut, set up specifically for this purpose.

On behalf of everyone at KAMC News, we want to thank you for helping us help all of those affected by the tragedy one week ago.
