Lubbock Victim Assistance Services along with one local mother have turned tragedy into triumph.

Gina Perry's son Bryan and his fiance, Jackie Little, were killed by a drunk driver in 2006 and just 2 years later, the trailer that displays the car Bryan and Jackie lost their lives in, has become the recipient of an honorable award.

In memory of Gina's son, Shallowater High School students along with a grant from State Farm created the trailer that holds the car where Bryan and Jackie lost their lives.

Since then the trailer has been to high school's across Texas, even across the country, sharing Bryan and Jackie's story and focusing on the seriousness of drinking and driving.

And just last month, the Lubbock Victim Assistance Services and Gina Perry received the 'Jackie Saburido' award for their effort to save lives.

For Gina Perry, the award is a symbol of love.

"It means all the hard work that everybody did, all the love that was put into this project has paid off and that Texas and TexDot had recognized what we had done and it was all done out of love," she says.

Gina says she hopes the trailer will continue to tour the state and even the country with Bryan and Jackie's story.
