Lubbock Police are investigating a shooting that happened late Saturday night after one person was found shot inside a car at a 7/11 near the Marsha Sharp Freeway.

Police say their investigation began when a car pulled into the gas station with a gunshot victim just before 11 p.m.

According to police, three men pulled into the gas station in a 2005 Mazda SUV. The gunshot victim--who has not been identified--was taken to University Medical Center.

Homicide detectives are leading the investigation into the shooting but the victim was listed as a security patient at UMC late Sunday night.

So far, police have released little information about their investigation but say the shooting took place in the 1200 block of 26th Street.
