Police say on July 7th, 23-year-old Travondrick Ward was found shot to death in the middle of the street on the 19-hundred block of 66th street.
"We just want them to step up and take responsibility for what they did to this family," said family friend Angela Ferrazas. "They owe it to his mom, to his sisters, his brother and let alone his kids. Because we have to answer them questions, 'Why is daddy not coming home? Where's daddy?'"
Despite several witnesses, no arrests have been made in Ward's case.
On November 9th, shortly after 7 p.m., police say they found 22-year old Fabian Castillo shot, outside Cricket Court Apartments. They said it happened during a fight in the parking lot. Castillo was rushed to University Medical Center where he died the next morning. No suspects have been arrested in this case. Castillo's sister wants whoever did it to be brought to justice, "It's my little brother, it's my baby brother," she said. "It's been hard on my mom, on all of us its been hard."
On November 28th, police were called to the Fort Jackson Mobile Estates in South Lubbock around 8:30 p.m. There they found the body of 32-year-old Jodi Winn inside one of the trailers. Ms. Winn was Facebook friends with David Martinez, who was murdered earlier that night. Joshua Bulls was arrested for Martinez death and some believe both cases to be related. At this time no arrests have been made.
Sgt. Jonathan Stewart with the Lubbock Police Department said they can't solve these crimes without the public's help. "Murder certainly affects a lot of people especially that person's family so it's very important for us to bring some resolution to that," said Stewart.
