Winter Ready Your Pipes and Heaters

- Keep your faucets running. Either let them drip, or if it gets even colder, you may want to let your faucet run at a steady rate to keep the water flowing.
- Open cabinet doors. This lets heat from the room surround the pipes and warm them up.
- If you are not going to be in your home for an extended period of time when it's cold, consider putting a laundry cap full of anti-freeze down the drain and in the toilet tank to keep the water there from freezing.
- When it comes to you heaters, run them at least once to check the air flow.
- Check the air filter and replace it if necessary to make sure air flow is at the highest rate possible.
