"My cousin Jessica, she's the one who has been wanting to buy her," said Aguirre.  "She's been after me about my daughter since the day she was born."

The missing girl's mother 22-year-old Tina Aguirre told KAMC News Wednesday afternoon that her cousin, Jessica, and her cousin's boyfriend who lives in Mexico, offered to buy 2-year-old Leah for $2,000.

"I told her no I couldn't because I don't do that to my own daughter," Aguirre said.  "She's my miracle baby because I lost eight children, so she's my miracle baby.

Jeanna Smith lived next door to Aguirre and has known her since high school.  Smith said Tina is mentally ill and never had eight other children like she claims.  Smith said Leah was her first child and should be her last.  Smith and other neighbors have called Child Protective Services on Tina multiple times and after each investigation, CPS cleared her.

"Tina has some mental issues," said Smith.  "I don't think she knew how to be a mother.  I think CPS needs to do a better job.  When you get two or three calls about one single child it ought to through up all kinds of red flags.  I'm just devastated.  She was a beautiful little girl"

Aguirre said although she was questioned by Slaton Police for 7 hours Tuesday night she claims she is innocent and had nothing to do with her daughters' disappearance.

"I just want my daughter to come home safely," said Aguirre.  "To come back home with me, her grandma, and her uncles."

But Smith said it's hard to believe Aguirre when she doesn't even seem emotional that her daughter has gone missing

"Tina's not even upset," said Smith.  "If this was my child I'd be throwing a fit.  There's people that care about that baby, even if Tina doesn't.  With all this coming out this will give the baby a new lease at life if she does come back."

Crosbyton Police said they gained no additional information from Aguirre during questioning that would help them locate the child.

Tuesday's Amber Alert has led to a number of leads across the country, but nothing that has led to the recovery of little Leah.

Leah is Hispanic, has black hair, brown eyes and weighs 30 lbs.  Miguel is being described as a 40-50 year-old Hispanic male, clean cut, slim build, and 5'4"-5'6" ft. tall.
