"The supply of the flu vaccine is getting very low in Lubbock and really all around Texas," Crockett said.
Flu season is well under way...with already six children dead in Texas.
But people rushing to get the vaccine may need to get there a little quicker.
"Don' wait anymore because there might not be vaccine later in the month," Tidwell.
Crockett Tidwell is a pharmacist for Market Street.
He said they still have a limited supply of the vaccine, but places like CVS and Walgreens are completely out.
"We're good for a little while," Tidwell said. "We still have several hundred more doses across the chain, so we are good for a little while."
Beckie Brawley with the Lubbock Health Department said last years mild flu season is the reason many agencies don't have a large supply of the vaccine.
"We always base our flu orders on what we gave the previous season," Brawley said. "Last season we didn't administer as much flu, so we cut our flu order basically in half this year."
Both Brawley and Tidwell said it is not too late to get your vaccine-so do what I did-and take their advice to get your shot as soon as you can.
"Flu season will last through March and that is a lot of time," Tidwell said. "A lot of time to get sick between now and then. Absolutely not too late, but don't wait too much longer."
