One Beaumont family is staying in Lubbock while clean-up efforts get underway in the Gulf Coast area. We caught up with them on Tuesday to see how theyre coping after Hurricane Ike. Mustafa Abdul-Jabbar evacuated Beaumont with his wife and young son, not long after they returned from an evacuation for Hurricane Gustav! Theyre staying with his father-in-law while they wait go home. He knows a tree fell on their house during the hurricane, but hes thankful his family is safe, and hes ready to start rebuilding. "My wife and son are gonna remain here in Lubbock, and Im going down as soon as those city officials let me back into the city, Im going to get a blue tarp, Im going to put that over our home, Im going to find some guys to try to get that tree off our home to prevent more water damage. Im in survival mode, I dont have time to cry over this, weve got to get my family back on the right page."
