Texas Tech Football is off to a perfect record this year, but many Tech students' records aren't so perfect.

Texas Tech Police made 24 alcohol-related arrests during Saturday's game against SMU.

That's double the number of arrests made at any one game last year.

Tech Police Chief, Ron Seacrist, says his staff is trying to be more tolerant of students, only arresting them as a last resort.

But Tech students disagree.

"If they're actually being lenient, which they aren't, I mean if they were being lenient their numbers would be down and kids would be going home," Tech junior Emily Chambliss says.

Chief Seacrist says his goal is for students to have fun and be safe at all games.
