Women's Tennis Win Sixth Straight Season Opener

Today the Lady Raider tennis team and defending Big 12 Champs looked to win their sixth consecutive season opener Saturday. The No. 22 Lady Raiders hosted the University of Denver at the Lubbock Country Club.

The No. 1 doubles team of Samantha Adams and Kenna Kilgo dominating in the first game. On a break point, Adams with the backhand and Kilgo the volley winner, 1-0. Later up 4-2, Adams worked the net and set herself up for the overhead stroke, 5-2 and they take the match 8-3.

No. 2 doubles team up 3-1, and break point for them, Nikki Sanders hits the crosscourt backhand, and a tough forehand down the line to go up 4 games to 1. They'll take it 8-2.

Onto the No. 3 doubels, trying to get a break, Elizabeth Ullathorne with a Strong backhand return and they too win 8-6. So the Lady Raiders get the doubles point.

Tech will take the end up winning its sixth straight season opener.
