As dismal as the economic news has been, financial advisors here in Lubbock say it's not time to panic.

Mark Bass has been helping folks manage their money for years.

He says the market's not at its worst, but he does have a few tips.

Bass says to be aware of the stocks in your portfolio, or mutual fund retirement plan, no matter how large or small the business may be.

He says bonds are still a good investment, futures are okay, and the energy market is okay.

Just refrain from taking your money out.

Mark Bass: “People though that need to withdraw money, hopefully they already have it set aside for that purpose.  But if they don't, that would be a good thing to do, to set it aside.”

Bass says Lubbock banking is still strong.

And thinks the stock market should turn around by the 4th quarter of this year, or the first quarter of 2009.
