A former Lubbockite whos now a Houston pastor is lending a hand to families down on the Gulf Coast. Bryan Beaver was visiting his family in Lubbock when Hurricane Ike hit. Earlier this week, Beaver packed up his Tahoe with ice, bread, and milk and drove 500 miles to deliver the goods to familes who need help. Now, hes back in Lubbock gathering another load to take back to Houston, and a private donor generously gave 250 loaves of bread for him to hand out. Says Beaver, "God gives us a resonsibility to care for our community and to care for those around us. Our church in Houston, we want to be responsible for the community that were around and give back to that community and to help those in need."
