In District 4-4A the Frenship and Plainview boys have the top spots in the district while, Monterey tried to keep pace and keep Lubbock High in their rear view mirror with the rivalry game took place Friday night over at Lubbock High.
The Westerners starting out on fire, Josh Brownfield hits it from downtown, giving LHS the 7-0 lead, part of a 10-0 run to start.
But Monterey stopped the bleeding, Tyler Chapman came off the screen and got the bucket to cut the lead to eight.
Dequalin McGraw also pitched in some long ball for Lubbock High, knocking down the three, to put Lubbock High up by nine.
