With another Texas Tech home game and families flooding in for parentss weekend, Lubbock is sure to see an economic boost! Stats from the Lubbock Visitors Bureau say that Lubbock sees about a 5 to 7 million dollar economic impact on game weekends. Alumni usually hit The Hub City, spending money on gas, hotels, and restaurants, and with parents weekend in full swing, well see an even bigger influx of people this weekend. Hotel managers tell us almost every room in Lubbock is sold out, but even that can be good for the surrounding area. Says Hotel-Motel Assocaition President Rob Meyer, "That will sell out Levelland, wil help Plainview, will help Post, will help the surrounding cities as well, so when you look at an economy, its not just Lubbocks economy." Marcy Jarrett of the Lubbock Visitors Bureau asys, " This will be my fourth time through the football season, which I love, and it seems like were getting busier and busier even though Lubbock continues to add more hotel rooms, were still filling up, and you gotta thank the team for that."
