Evan Jansa joined KAMC 28 News (Red Raider Nation) in August 2012. He's excited to get back West Texas after working as a sports reporter/weekend anchor at KTAB/KRBC in Abilene.
Evan is familiar with the sports scene on the South Plains, having grown up a country mile from Lubbock in Garden City.
Evan has a degree in broadcast journalism from Texas Tech and he's been covering the Red Raiders for as along as he can remember. That goes all the way back to sneaking his notebook into Jones Stadium in 2002 when Tech upset the Longhorns when he was 13.
As a student, Evan worked for the college newspaper, The Daily Toreador. He was also active in the college's television station, MC-TV, serving as a reporter and anchor.
Prior to his stint at Tech, Evan attended South Plains College where his love for sports broadcasting started. He was fortunate enough to do play-by-play and color commentary for the Texans and Lady Texans.
When Evan's not working, you can find him posting triple-digit scores at the golf course.
He loves hearing a good story, but more importantly, telling one. Send him yours: ejansa@kamc.tv
